MINUTES of the Annual Parish Meeting held in the School Hall, Back Lane, Newburgh on Wednesday, 17th May 2006 commencing at 7.30pm.

 

PRESENT: Councillor R.E. Porter, Chairman and Mr B. Howard, Clerk of the Council.

                  50 residents including Parish Councillors and Stallholders.

                   Apologies were received from Rosie Cooper M.P., County Councillor R. Shepherd and

                   District Councillor, E. Pope.

 

1.

MINUTES of the Annual Parish Meeting held on 25th May 2005 were agreed and signed as a correct record.

 

2.

PARISH COUNCIL ANNUAL REPORT.

The Chairman, Cllr. Porter welcomed residents, village organisations and Sid and Liz Calderbank, our entertainers before setting out the programme for the evening.

The highlights of the Annual General Report were: -

Alex Sunderland and Maureen Turner.

 

The Chairman thanked Councillors and the Clerk for their assistance, diligence and team work over the past year.

 

The Chairman asked for any questions from those present but none were raised.

 

3.

VILLAGE LIFE AS IT WAS.

Father and daughter duo, Sid and Liz Calderbank, provided some enjoyable songs, dialect poems and step dancing.

VILLAGE LIFE AS IT IS.

The Chairman invited those present to take tea and biscuits before visiting the stands set up by the following organisations: -

Newburgh CE School.

Christ Church.

Newburgh Sports Club, represented by Archery Section.

Neighbourhood Watch and Community Beat Officer.

Tree Warden.

Newburgh W.I.

Fair Committee.

Newburgh Morris.

The Grove Holiday Scheme.

Brownies, Cub Scouts and Guides.

 

The Receipts and Payments Records were available for public inspection.

A paper copy of the Parish Council Annual Report 2005/06 was handed to residents.
