NEWBURGH NEWS SPECIAL.

Newburgh's website launch.

Newburgh 's own website www.newburghlancs.co.uk goes live during Newburgh Fair Week and residents are invited to the launch of the site and a demonstration of its contents at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 7th June 2006 at Newburgh School.

The site, sponsored by the Parish Council, contains a wide range of information, designed to appeal to both residents and visitors.

The Home Page carries an introduction to the village, together with pictures of The Green and the Fair.

This is followed by a quick profile of Newburgh and then a section on local history, including some pictures from the early 20th century. This, in turn, links to some illustrated pages on Newburgh's 700th anniversary.

Next comes information on the Conservation Area, including the regulations that apply to buildings in the Area.

There are pages on local landscape and footpaths including two printable maps.

Businesses, schools, churches and clubs in the area are all given their own sections and more information on the Fair is included in a piece on annual events.

The Parish Council has its own pages with details of councillors and their responsibilities. There is also a section on public services - local government, medical, police, transport and libraries, all with contact details.

Finally, there is a picture gallery containing photos of Newburgh Today and Bygone Newburgh, together with a version of Then and Now, the book of Newburgh 's historic buildings produced for the 70 0 th anniversary.

The website was built by two Newburgh residents, Tom Gerard and Chris Moore and the masthead incorporates the logo of Edwardl created by Newburgh resident, Jo Treasure, for the 70 0 th anniversary.

Come along on 7th June to tell us what you think of the site so we can continue its development to meet the needs of residents and to publicise the village to visitors!
