NEWBURGH NEWS SPECIAL. August 2006.
New features on Newburgh website.
Additions have been made to the Newburgh website ( www.newburghlancs.co.uk)
covering some of the summer’s events.
The winning pictures and photographs from the Newburgh Fair Arts competition can now be viewed in the Picture Gallery. These include entries by both children and adults on subjects such as sunsets, humour and animals. Click on the Picture Gallery and go to Newburgh Art.
Video clips of the Newburgh Fair procession appear in the Newburgh Today section of the Picture Gallery or can be reached via Annual Events and click on the link from Newburgh Fair. The videos, taken by members of the Newburgh Fair organising committee, also have a sound track with happy children and the jazz band. (Note: videos will download more quickly with Broadband but can be received with a dial-up connection).
If you missed the Open Gardens Day in the village, or would like to see some of Newburgh’s hidden gardens again, go to Annual Events and click on the link from Open Gardens. Alternatively go straight to Picture Gallery and you will find them in the Newburgh Today section.
Finally, there are now some more useful Links including quick access to information from West Lancashire District Council on subjects such as planning applications, travel concessions, Conservation Areas and building regulations. Remember too, that the Public Services pages include information on local government, medical services, police, transport services and libraries.
The site, sponsored by the Parish Council, also has the latest agendas and minutes of Council meetings.
Since the site was launched in June, there have been over 1,500 visitors including many from our twin town, Newburgh, Indiana, U.S.A.
