Lancashire Best Kept Village
Competition.
Congratulations!
Well, we did it. Newburgh Village has won the Champions Class of the 2006 Competition.
This means that we have achieved the wonderful result of being the Champion Village of Lancashire in the prestigious top Class of this competition, a result we last achieved in 1989.
Prizes will be The Royal Lancashire Agricultural Society Rose Bowl, a Certificate, Commemorative Plaque, Garden Centre Vouchers and a watercolour painting of the village by Gordon Wilkinson.
It is also pleasing to report that the War Memorial on Course Lane has been judged a well-deserved Best Kept War Memorial in Lancashire. This means we will be presented with a Certificate and a Trophy.
Many thanks to everyone for all their hard work in keeping the village clean and tidy,
thus contributing to our success.
Newburgh will be featured in the November edition of Lancashire Life – your copy can be purchased from the Newburgh Post Office.
