NEWBURGH NEWS.
Dear Resident,
The roadworks and Newburgh businesses.
The disruption from the roadworks in the village has had a detrimental affect on our businesses and residents are asked for their renewed support now that the work is completed.
It is only a few months since we put up a great fight to save our post office, village store and tearoom. It is again under threat as a result of the drop-off in business caused by the roadworks. Last year we became aware how important it is for the survival of the Post Office that all parts of the business are supported. If one goes down, then the others are at risk. So if you can use the shop or tearoom and help secure the future of the business, please do – it will be enough if you can make just one purchase a week!
At the Red Lion Hotel, where the lack of passing trade has also had an effect, new menus are now launched, together with an offer of two courses for £4.95 available from 12 noon to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. There are also special menu nights each weekday from 5pm.
Hair by Rachael depends for some of her business on customers who come from outside the village and have found it difficult to get there. Weekly hairdressing offers are now available and there are discounted rates for colours on Thursdays. Senior Citizen rates apply on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
This is the third time recently that businesses have been affected by road closures.
Our support has made the difference in the past – LET’S DO IT AGAIN!
