Public bus routes:

Service 203 Ormskirk - Burscough - Newburgh - Parbold - Newburgh - Skelmersdale. Hourly Monday to Saturday daytime service from Ormskirk, via the Hesketh Road Estate, through Burscough, Burscough Bridge Interchange (for Tesco), Heathfield Estate, A5209 Lathom, Newburgh, Parbold (to connect with train service), Newburgh, Whalleys to Skelmersdale (via Asda).
